I can think of 10 more that are as worthy or nearly so. A recently released one that expands the market to less groggy folks is Fields of Despair.

+1 to Fields of Despair (https://www.gmtgames.com/p-686-fields-o ... nting.aspx) great fog of war system, love the mechanics of how it transitions from the early mobile war to a trench driven warfare. I helped play test it when it was being designed by Kurt Keckley, and it is one of my favorites.

I'm sure others will also chime in that some other popular entries and easy to find titles are Balance of Powers, Empires and Alliances, Guns of August and Lamps are Going Out. These have a strategic entire war view and can all be had for $70 or less used and sometimes new. Nice article.
